I'm having intermittent but frequent indexing failure with a CFW10 filter wheel. It very frequently fails to find the index (and therefore filter). Often a power cycle will fix it, but only for a while.

I have cleaned the optical sensor and verified there is nothing obstructing the index holes, but the problem is unchanged.

It dates from late 2008 so well out of warranty so I'd prefer a DIY solution if possible (since I live in France and shipping will be long and expensive).

    thanks,
    Richard

    Hi Richard

I had a problem with my CFW9 getting stuck in the "Busy" position. I am not sure that this will fix your problem but I received a suggestion from another user (Colin H.) as follows:

"You can also need to check Windows Power Management - ensuring USB Selective Suspend is disabled, on the USB devices, hubs, root hubs."

This solved my problem. It might be worth a try in your case.
