I just received my STXL-16200 and would like to get a 12 volt DC power cord so I can run it off a marine battery in the field. The manual mentions a "12VDC Power Cord" but I can't find it on the web. What's the part number? My STT-8300 will arrive this week and I'll want a 12 volt DC power cord for it as well. What is its part number? Thanks - Eric
The DC cord for STF/STT is here: http://diffractionlimited.com/product/12vdc-battery-cable/ We do not have such a cable for the STXL. You could probably modify an STXL extension cord http://diffractionlimited.com/product/stx-stxl-extension-cable-new/ but you would need to be able to solder.
Doug, I can solder so I'll try making my own cable, or will cut a power extension cable and solder in a battery connector, using the pin outs in the STXL manual, Appendix D. Next time someone updates the STXL manual, it would be nice to remove this statement on page 8, under options: 12VDC Power Cord A 12VDC power cord is available for field operation directly from a battery
This inspired Tim to update the STX and STXL manuals. He just posted a new STX manual, and STXL is next. We've been slowly working through all the materials updating them. It's a big job.
