I'm new to the STF8300C camera and I'm in the early learning stages. My previous camera was a Mallincam Universe which was a CCD camera with video capabilities. The output from that camera always produced extremely noise-free initial images. My SBIG images have a lot of noise when taken. This can be removed in post processing but is there a way to do that as the images are taken so that one could judge detail?

Did you set the cooler to an appropriate temperature (e.g. -10C)? Are you using dark subtraction?
