I am conducting a star survey in search of exoplanets and variable stars. I am looking for photometry software that can auto select all stars in an image and then do photometry for each star for a series of images. The resultant light curve data for each star will be then saved to a file for further analysis. Selecting reference stars and the ability to report each star's light curve data by RA and DEC is a plus (via astrometry). Can MaxIm DL 6 do this?

AIP4WIN has a tool that does this (info below) but I am looking for a more robust software package. There may be 5000 stars in one image with 1000 images in a sequence to analyze.

    Any guidance greatly appreciated.
    thanks

    1. AIP4WIN2 Magnitude Extraction Tool (MXT) for stellar photometry.
      • Opens, calibrates, and runs photometry automatically.
      • Extracts magnitude data for every star for any number of images.
      • Optimized for variable star and exoplanet searches.

Take a look on sextractor and scamp. Both are free. They do what you want.
