I've got a CFW9/v2 filter wheel hooked up to a ST-2000XM. In CCDOps it will auto detect it as a FW8 but I've also tried manually setting it to CFW9. On power-up it will rotate through the filters to find the key position but it never moves after that.

Whenever I try to set it to a specific filter while set as CFW9 it comes back with "the CFW reports that it is busy". When set to CFW8 it says it's moved to the correct filter instantly but the wheel never moves.

    Help :(

    Chris,

It could very well be the I2C connector in the camera. That's how a filter wheel will behave when the I2C isn't working. The rotation at power up is just the FW getting voltage but trying to move to any filter gets you that message. The CFW-8 connects to the AO/CFW/SCOPE connector in those cameras. Any command to move a CFW-8 won't be seen at the I2C. Send me an email, bill@sbig.com, and I'll give you the details on how and where to send it for repair.
