I just purchased a ZWO CMOS camera that I would like to control with Maxim. When I go to the "Setup Camera" drop down, there is not an option for ZWO. Can you please let me know which option to select in order to control the ZWO camera. Thank you.

Please contact the manufacturer for appropriate drivers. They will provide either a native MaxIm DL plug-in or an ASCOM driver.

They have a low level hardware driver that you install first, then you install their ASCOM driver. Then you select ASCOM camera, and pick the ZWO in the ASCOM camera chooser.

Yes; I can confirm that. I have an ASI1600MC Pro, and have successfully used it with the ASCOM driver in TheSkyX and MaxIm. SkyX also has a native driver that works, but I believe MaxIm must use ASCOM.

The ZWO drivers Colin mentioned can be found at https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/software-drivers .

First look in the Native Drivers section for the item that says, This driver MUST be installed for Windows users to use ASI cameras. Then scroll down to the next section and look for ASI Cameras ASCOM driver to support our cameras.

Be sure you have the current ASCOM platform installed. In MaxIm camera setup, choose "ASCOM Camera," then click Choose (or Properties?) and select the ZWO camera you have.

    Hope this helps.
