Download Priority

    Is there access through the ActiveX interface to the "download priority" setting for SBIG cameras?

    You cannot access setup dialog features through automation. They are camera-specific.

    This feature doesn't really do anything with modern equipment. It's there for legacy hardware.

    Thanks for the reply!

    It seems that unless it is set to "Low" for our STT8300, we get noisy images and excessive heat in the camera, preventing it from reaching its set cooling point. Sometimes Maxim seems to revert to the default setting, which is "Very High", so I wanted to ensure that upon start-up it was set back to "Low".

    It is hard to believe that setting would affect cooling.

    Have not witnessed it myself, but that's the report from Paul, our observatory engineer. I have referred him to this thread, so perhaps he will comment.
