I have the SBIG STX 16803 with the AO-X, filter wheel and external guider. Now, do I need to turn off the internal guider to use the external guider?? AND, if so, how do you do that. I'm getting a guider error and was thinking there might be a conflict between the two guider chips.

Just select "External". There's no "off" switch. They both use the same readout electronics, so there's nothing to turn off.

FYI, we discontinued internal guider support for the STX a year ago. The STX Guider has obsoleted it. No one wants to use the FW5-STX, lose two filter slots, use the much more expensive 65 mm filters, and have the guide chip behind the filters. The STX Guider is a much better value proposition.
