Using the FW8G-STT with an STT8300M, after selecting a well known star (magnitude 2) and having centered the image of that star in the FOV, when I expose that same star for guiding I expect to see that image also centered or near centered of the FOV, but instead is way off center. How can I resolve this problem?
Are you referring to the main chip versus the guide chip? The guide camera looks at a region of sky just off to the side of the main chip. That is so the guide pick-off mirror doesn't block the main camera. That's how it is supposed to work.
Yes that is what I'm referring (main chip versus guide chip). Thanks for clarifying what I was not sure off. Satisfied with the promt reply. Thanks, Hector Santini
