When mounting the FW7-STX to a STX-16803 camera, step 7 from the supplied instructions says:

7: Mount the filter wheel base to the camera using the screws provided. Do this by first removing the telescope coupling from the camera body. The four screws on the camera body that are on a 5.2 by 3 inch pattern. Do not lose the leveling shims if present. For the 7-Position model attach the supplied light baffle plate over the filter opening between the camera and filter wheel. Mount the filter wheel plate with the logo toward the camera and the bulk of the wheel hanging over the camera electrical connections.

The supplied light baffle plate is smaller than the camera body and it's hole pattern does not match the holes used to attach the filter wheel to the camera. Specifically, the holes in the baffle plate are spaced 3" by 3" but the filter housing attaches to the camera using the 3" X 5.2" holes. The only way to follow the bold print above is to place the baffle between the camera and filter wheel and tighten the screws so it is held in by compression. The problem with this is, since the baffle plate is smaller than the camera body, tightening the screws causes the filter housing to bend. That can't be right. It seems like either I'm putting the baffle plate in the wrong place or the wrong size baffle plate was sent. I'm leaning toward the latter.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are you looking at the wrong side of the filterwheel?

Thanks for the reply. The supplied light baffle would fit under the telescope adapter which has a 3" X 3" screw pattern. However, the instructions say to place the baffle "over the filter opening between the camera and filter wheel." The filter wheel attaches to the camera with screws on a 5.2" X 3" pattern so the screws do not match up with the 3" X 3" holes in the light baffle. If the light baffle goes between the filter wheel and camera it should have holes on the 5.2" X 3" pattern. I could fit it under the telescope adapter on the other side of the filter wheel which has 3" X 3" hole pattern but this is not where the instructions say to put it.
