I am installing a power bus on the OTA to simplify cable runs. Is there any reason to not feed the STXL 11002 directly from a 30A 12V DC power supply? How do I get a plug?

Yes you can use your own 12V source. It's a standard 6 pin DIN connector, and the connections are documented in the user manual, Appendix D.

Just a thought... at 30A you might want to fuse your loads. Quite a bit of power there. A friend of mine once had his telescope catch on fire due to a short circuit. I gotta say it was pretty amusing to watch the resulting antics, but it did rather make a mess of his cabling and it was a bit dangerous. He was smart enough to kick the connection off rather than use his hand - he would have got burned.
