Hello -- when processing and combining RGB images from the SBIG 50mm square filters, what is the combination ratio to be used? I'd come across an RGB ratio of 1:1:1.6, but that appeared to be for an older model so wanted to confirm what should be used for the current ones.

    Thanks for your help!
    Kevin.

Kevin, you're best to calibrate against a G2V star (or a daylight scene with a camera lens and a reference card in daylight).
The spectral response of the sensor in your camera is a huge factor in determining the color balance.
e.g. an Aluma U694 is very blue sensitive, whereas an STXL11002 is not.
So you might want to look at the sensor data sheet.

Thanks, Colin and Doug for the quick responses. We'll take a look into the sensor data sheet (it's a SBIG STX 16803, with STX Guider, and AOX). Also appreciate the helpful references to G2V star calibration.

    Kevin.
