I understand that dithering is suppose to help remove hot pixels. When setting up dithering in the Autosave Setup window, how does one determine the max Dev (pixels) number to use? Also, should I be dithering in both X & Y or the default Y only. The one time that I tried using dithering, I arbitrarily picked Y only and 2 pixels. I ended up with a whole bunch of red green and blue dots lined up in rows of three in the stacked and combined narrowband RGB image. I assume that was due to too large a pixel number in the setup.
I am using the dither via guider option. I use a separate guide camera & guide scope connected to my AP900 GOTO mount with a ST-4 cable. I guide via camera relays. I am imaging from a large city with a TV NP127is at f4.2 using an SXVR H694 camera and SX filter wheel with Baader narrowband filters.
