I have an STT-8300, with guiding filter wheel and AO....all about 2 years old or so. Use ACP/Scheduler to operate everything. I have repeatedly had guide star faded issues, have lately been limiting the lower exposure to 1 second.....seems silly to have this cool equipment and still only update guiding at 1 Hz....but it is what works reliably!!!

A couple of times I thought about updating the firmware....I already have the drivers updated.... Every time I start to update firmware it is in the middle of the night and I'm frustrated so the message "do not update firmware unless told to do so by support personnel" always scares me off.

Should I update my firmware in order to try and get better performance from this setup?

    BTW - my firmware is:
    sttusb.bf2 1.10 which is current.
    sttga.bf2 2.58 current is 2.61 I think.
