STXL16200 cooling

    Hi Doug,

    my 16200 doesn't go below -35° despite cooler power is at a very comfortable 37% right now.

    I'm missing something in the setup of Maxim or elsewhere?

    The STXL cameras are limited to -35C. Below that temperature you are approaching the dew point even at the extremely low humidity levels in the chamber. To avoid risk of frost accumulating we limit the minimum temperature.

    There is not much point to cooling further. The dark current at -35C is only 0.27 e-/pixel/second.

    I am glad you asked that question. I was imaging with my new STXL 16200 on Friday night for the first time since I bought it and I noticed exactly the same thing. The camera temperature was -35 with only 45% output.
