I got a brand new STF-8300C and was updating it before first light and I got a TX error while updating the Firmware. I let it sit for over 30 minuets but it never recovered. The camera does not respond now. I will be sending it in for repair.

First action for camera problems will be to Reset. Sometimes the camera or software can boot incorrectly so a reset will correct many issues like image artifacts, erratic shutter, or connection issues.

Did you leave it off for a few minutes.

Have there been any firmware updates since Matt T left? Have there been any within the past 12 months? Does the firmware need updating on a new camera? If not, perhaps the word should be spread in order to avoid this sort of event.

I suspect the unit should not need flashing if it was just shipped.
