    Hello everyone,

I have been using my trusty ST-7XME (and a parallel 7E before that) for many years, but have acquired an ST-10XMEI.

My old ST-7 XME has both water cooling and the guide sensor which the 10XMEI lack.

Is it possible to swap components and upgrade my ST-10? I think the guide sensor is a long-shot as both the size of sensor and firmware are obvious stumbling blocks, but the water cooling might be achievable....

Any guidance or advice gratefully received - thanks in advance.

    Simon,

I'm sorry, the guiding ccd in the ST-7 is not interchangeable with the ST-10 and there are no longer parts available to perform the upgrades you're looking to do.

    Regards,

    Bill

    Bill,

Thanks for your reply - that's a shame, but pretty much what I expected. I'll just use the camera as-is.

Do you know if the components for the water cooling are interchangeable, please?

    Thanks,

    Simon.

Yes, the Heat Exchanger (the black heat sink) can be moved to the ST-10.

That’s great to know - I may do this!

    Thanks,

    Simon.
