Hello. I'm attempting to install drivers for my ST-8300C onto my Win7 Starter Edition netbook.
Using the SBIG 64 Bit Driver Checker, I hit the Download button. After drivers are downloaded, I receive the following error message:

Error uncompressing driver archive: Access to C:\Program Files\SBIG\Driver Checker 64\SBIG Drivers 3r2\32 Bit\Classic\sbigu32.sys was denied. If you have a firewall enabled try disabling it and Download again.
My firewall was enabled. I disabled it, but the error message persists, and I cannot proceed with the driver installation.

    Can you help? Thanks!

Try, Mouse-Right-Click the SBIG driver checker program link on the desktop, (or in the program list) and select "Run as Administrator"

    Does that make any difference?

    William:

That did the trick. The drivers downloaded and were updated/installed. Thanks very much for the help.

Unfortunately, the camera won't boot up, and the drivers don't show up in the Control Panel's list of USB controllers. But that's a topic for a new thread, I think.
