Hi, I am trying to figure out if the AO-L front hole is threaded or not. If so, what is the thread size and hole dimension. I am trying to make a custom adapter. Thanks! Billy
See Page 12 of the manual: http://diffractionlimited.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/ST-L-Operating-Manual.pdf
The information you need is in the manuals, and they are available here in the archive area: http://diffractionlimited.com/support/sbig-archives/ Look at the STL and AO-L manuals there, as information is provided as well as some photos. The AO-L attaches to the nose-piece mounting plate on the front of the camera (or larger 8-position Filter Wheel). It takes the nose-piece from the camera, and has bolt holes that hold it on. The nose-piece has a 48mm x 0.75 thread on the inside, for a filter. The nose-piece inside thread should not be used for holding the weight of the camera.
Hi Doug, Just to confirm, I don't need to attach another accessory plate to the AO-L front plate correct? Is the front hole already threaded? Sorry my AO-L unit is at the remote location. Just want to confirm before I make the parts. Billy
Here is the adapter I am trying make. Could you confirm I can thread the adapter in the front hole without the accessory plate mentioned on page 12 of the SBIG manual?
