Hello. I have just received my first Sbig camera.

In the kit are two black plastic capsules. I assume that these are spare desiccant plugs.

Do I need to insert one of them or does the camera come with a factory fitted plug already.

    Cautious about opening anything.

    Thank you

Marcus, the dessicant plug is pre-fitted to the camera.
    It looks like this:

There may be a hole plug that can be put in place when you recharge the original plug (shown above).
Perhaps you could snap a photo and upload.

Thank you for your reply. The camera comes with these two plastic capsules. I’m not sure what they are for.

Marcus, those are snap-on ferrite chokes for eliminating radio frequency interference (RFI) and go on the cables, preferrably about 1-inch (25mm) or so from the cable end.
To install, usually you gently open the plastic cover, it separates into two halves, and then you insert the cable, wrap it once around and back through for a second time, and then gently snap it shut on the cable.
Definitely put one on the USB, and you could put one on the power cable.
They're not absolutely necessary, but do help get rid of RFI.
I just checked the manual and there is very little said. We'll fix that in a future update to the manual.
