I own an ST-7E with the "T" at the end of model number? What does that mean?

There was an ST-7EI model, "Industrial" version with no guide chip. Might look a bit like a T?

If there was a "T" model maybe @Bill would recall.

FYI, the first T stands for "tracker". SBIG's first commercial product was the ST-4, and that stood for "Star Tracker 4" - ST-1 through ST-3 were early prototypes. The naming convention stuck with later models.

E's, EA's, XE's, XEA's and the I's (not to forget the oldest ones that had no letters) but no T's. Does the s/n look like it was done on a typewriter?

Here is an ad for the ST-7E-T I purchased.

And here's a pic of the serial number

I found your serial number, 00112606T, in our database.

All the record says is KAF-0401E/LE, no ABG, no microlens, TC-211 tracking CCD, manufactured December 2001, Parallel port interface, no water cooling.

That's all it says. No indication of what the T means.

Curiously, it is the only ST-7 with a T suffix on the serial number. Perhaps this was built specially for someone?

Yikes! I stand corrected. Gimme a minute to get my foot outta my mouth. Maybe it was for someone specific, no clue. Thanks for the humble pie.

Well it's official... whatever that T was, it is lost in the sands of time.

Sorry we can't be more helpful.

Guys, it's only been about 20 years since that camera was built.
    Time for an upgrade!
