Use another camera than the guiding head on STL11000M ?

No, the STL-11000M remote guide head port cannot be used that way.
Instead, you could try something like this: STL to SBIG StarChaser SC with an adapter and the AO-X.

In this setup, the SC controls the AO, and there is no electrical connection to the STL, just a mechanical adapter like this:

Some customers also have used an Astrodon MOAG device similar to this, which holds a different guide camera, but you can't control the AO:

We don't have a guiding head camera that plugs into the STL and controls the AO-L.
Use a separate SBIG USB camera as the guide head.
The second SBIG camera woud have it's own I2C AUX port to control the AO-L.
You would have to design your own mechanical adapters.


You might find something like a used STF-8300 somewhere cheap. We sold out, because ON Semiconductor, maker of the former Kodak CCD detector chips stopped making those parts in 2019.

Or you might try a STC-428-OEM with an adapter cable to the AO-L. We've never tried that combination.

Just find another SBIG camera that has an I2C AUX port and you're done.

 

I suggest you talk to Gaston at IF for his recommendations, to make sure it will all work together.
Most models such as the STT/STF/STXL/STX would probably work. USB versions of the ST7/8/9/10/2000 would probably work but are really slow downloading - except once you find the guide star.
Aluma CCD and other newer models that have the round I2C AUX port probably would work.
