    Happy Sunday DL Team,

I am currently operating a used, but new to me STT-8300 and matching filter wheel. Somehow in the past the e-clip retaining ring that holds the spring loaded arm in place (see below) got lost, and there was a creatively engineered field repair that has failed and my remote setup is now currently unusable. I noted this recently when putting in new photometric filters and made a note that I had to find this information and repair it on the next visit. Recently, this little item elevated its priority for me - the filter wheel won't switch filters now.

So my question is....I don't suppose you happen to know the size of the e-clip retaining ring that I need to get to make a proper repair here, do you? I am guessing based on the photo that it's likely 1/8" or 3/16". But since it's a 180 mile drive to the remote observatory, I'd like the confidence of knowing that I have the right part before I set aside the time to make the drive and repair. If you had a technical manual or parts list somewhere that had this information, I'd be grateful for the sharing of it. I can pick up the e-clip at a hardware store before I go down to the observatory.

    Thanks,

    Mike Wiles

The assembly used today is very different than the one in that old photo. I don't have the parts list for that old version.

    Maybe @Bill would know?

    Hey Team,

Thanks for the follow ups. I’m down at the observatory now installing the replacement part - it’s a 1/16” E-clip.

    total cost - 12 cents.

And approximately $900 in diesel fuel at current prices. ;)

Should be back up and running tonight. Thanks again!!
