    Hey Doug and Colin,

Could I get MacOS and Linux drivers for the StarChaser SC-3 please?

Also, I reached out to Colin about this a couple of months ago, but was there any luck with a Linux driver for the USB to Filter Wheel adapter? Would it be possible at all to create a driver that may work with ASCOM Alpaca, or any other SDK on Linux? Currently our solution has been to have a Windows computer just for the filter wheel that receives commands via TCP/IP from a Linux computer to control the filter wheel, but would greatly appreciate being able to remove the Windows computer entirely from the equation.

    Regards,

    Hi Rohan,

We don't have a Linux version of the USB-FW driver on our roadmap at the moment, so we don't have anything to update here.

Regarding DLAPI's drivers, we're working through some issues with our Linux/MacOS drivers with our USB chipset vendor. Some users are reporting success with the Linux drivers v2.4.5.0 (available here: https://cdn.diffractionlimited.com/down/dlapi-2.4.5.0-x86_64.linux.tar.gz), but our MacOS drivers are not ready for prime time yet.

    Cheers,
    -Adam

    Hey Adam,

    Thanks for your reply.

Shame to hear about the fact that the USB-FW driver is not on your roadmap, but no worries. We'll give the Linux drivers a shot for the StarChaser SC-3. Would it help you guys if we reported whether or not we had any success with them? We're hoping to use the StarChaser with PHD2 and Linux, but failing that, we will probably end up using MaximDL Pro and Windows...

As a side note, is it possible to transfer a MaximDL Pro license to another computer? We are hoping to send out a different computer to our observatory site than the computer we are using for testing/ developing software and would appreciate being able to transfer the license to this new computer once everything is done being tested. Please let us know about this.

It is! Your license allows for installation on two PCs, so long as you don't run the program simultaneously on both PCs. Many users have an image-processing PC and an observing PC, and this is a setup we actively encourage.
