This camera has served me well for 9 years now. Two days ago, Tempe, Arizona experienced a microburst with winds exceeding 70 mph. I learned the hard way that this was strong enough to roll my 1100-pound observatory roof back, soaking everything with torrential rain. Everything but the camera survived well. When I plug it in, the fan starts up for a couple seconds, and then spools down. I am guessing that this is some sort of safety shutdown. It has had a couple days to dry out, but I'm getting the same result. Is there any chance that this could be something simple I could diagnose and repair? Thanks. Tom
I'll talk to myself here to mention that after four days of drying out, the fan comes on and runs normally now. It doesn't connect to the computer yet. Perhaps it will after another four days of further drying.
Wow! That is unfortunate! I don't think this will be a simple fix unless it suddenly springs back to life after a few more days of drying. Ideally, your best course of action is to send it in and we can do a thorough inspection.
