    Hello,

For my new Aluma 694, which I am trying to get to work --

I have tried to run Maxim DL Pro on both my older model windows 10 computer (which has a possible disadvantage of a USB 1.0 port) and on my MacBook Air (with the disadvantage of using Parallels to make it a windows 10 machine.

The camera can take lights and darks and it cools ok, but it freezes in several cases
    - when I try to set the cooler temperature
    - when i click unnecessarily on one of the options buttons.

Does anyone have suggestions about how to avoid freezing up?

    Note:
I have the latest beta on the parallels machine, and am going to put on the older windows 10 machine now.
I dont have ascom installed on the parallels machine. Does that matter.
Does the usb 1.0 on the older windows machine matter?

That's a known issue for an older release. Please update your drivers and firmware.
    1. Go to http://diffractionlimited.com/product/aluma-694/ and click the Downloads tab
    2. Under Software download the "Drivers and Camera Configuration Utility"
    3. Install the downloaded file. It will update your drivers and put the latest firmware on your drive
    4. Power up the camera and connect to your computer (USB is fastest)
    5. Under Start menu select DL Config Utility (you can also access through MaxIm DL Pro / Camera Control / Setup tab / Setup / Advanced)
    6. Select your camera, and use the Firmware button to update your camera firmware.

    Dear Doug,
I tried your suggestion above several times over the last couple of hours.
In addition, one of your experts spent about 2 hours with me this morning. He even had me get a new micro SD card to be able to fix the firmware in the camera.
But I still can't get the camera to work properly.

Here is the status of my most recent efforts:
    DLAP installed
Then, I went to MAXIM DL to install the firmware and got this final status report
    - "Uploading firmware"
    - "Validating firmware"
    - "Finalizing firmware"
    - "Could not re-enable Flash I/O protectors. Firmware is at risk."

After this encouraging message I could not get the camera to work.

By the way, I have two options available to me for the firmware
    - number 6148 via your method
    - number 4 via the approach taking by your very helpful expert this morning.

    Best regards, Roger

    Hello Doug,
I did exactly what you suggested. It did not help.
I am not sure that this is relevant but
    - I could not see any trace of the drivers being updated
    - It was clear that the firmware was being updated.

Hi Roger, can we try another remote session via TeamViewer? It sounds like this is a separate issue from the WiFi problems you were experiencing.

    Dear Adam,
Thanks very much. When would be a good time to connect in remote session over teamviewer?

Yes, I understood that you were focused on the wifi--which is of course important. But not the biggest issue.
    A bigger issue is that
    - the camera freezes up if I try to set the cooler temperature.
    - the camera freezes up if i click on options
On the positive size, the camera does seem to take images and darks etc, provided that I don't provoke it with the above two vulnerabilities.

Let me know when it is a good time for you.

    Roger

I was able to log in and get Roger up and running. His install defaulted to threading turned off. He's enabled it on both his machines, and things appear to be running smoothly.
Roger, as I mentioned in our chat, if you have any other issues don't hesitate to reach out—we're always happy to help!
