Can you take a fast look in Windows Event Viewer, for an entry that says "Application Error" under the Source column?
You can use Find... at the right hand side to search for "Application Error".
I'm looking for the details for a MaxIm_DL.exe fault.
    Like this:
    event_viewer_app_error.png
I need the text in the General tab.
Make sure it's the Application Error, not the .NET Runtime or Windows Error Reporting.

Ok I finally have a couple of crash logs for you.... The pattern in the log looks very similar to what I've seen in the past - A failure while trying to setup the guider and then Maxim starting and stopping repeatedly. Again when I try to manually re-connect to the camera it errors until I power cycle the camera first.

Link to all the logs for the last couple of months - at the end of the very last one you'll see the last incident clearly.

Link to all the crash logs - I didn't realize I had one from back at the end of May but there are two from last nights run.

    Thanks James!
I'm downloading now, and will review.
Hopefully this gets us insight into what is happening and then we can get it resolved.

James - can you zip up your settings and attach - the ones I have are from 20 days ago.
Also, was ACP or FocusMax involved in the latest one and the crashes?
If so, please also supply ACP logs so I can have a look.
The crashdumps you provided have some useful info - really appreciate you sending these along.

Thank you ! I would really like to get to the bottom of this one. It's the last hurdle to consistent automated operation I think!

Hi James, @Adam Robichaud spent a fair bit of time on this stuff today, and connected with Russ's PC to inspect this. He thinks he has some insight into one of the causes and is working through details presently.

Good news... after Adam's work on my machine yesterday, everything seems to be working much better. CCDAP is no longer crashing MaxIm. I was actually able to set up a session and let it run all night without babysitting it. :)

    Thanks, guys!

    Ok, good Russ.
Your help with making this reproducible is greatly appreciated.
Now we have to get back to James.

    Hi James,
I just thought you should know we've released a a MaxIm update that will resolve some issues.
You can find more info here:
    https://forum.diffractionlimited.com/threads/maxim-dl-6-22-released.7261/

If this is not enough to solve it, then let me know, and I'd like to schedule a remote session to log into your machine and check a few things over.
    I'm on EDT (UTC-4).

Thanks - I missed the notification on this last post. I'll upgrade ASAP - I came back here tonight because of another Maxim issue (didn't seem to crash, but refused to connect to the camera)... Anyway - I will upgrade to .22 tomorrow. You are welcome to log into my observatory anytime too.

We're also working on some additional items we've identified that will follow, possibly as a patch to 6.22.
