Is the STX 16803 compatible with the FW8G-STT filter wheel? Everything I see just lists the StarChaser SC-3. Also I have the AO8T Adaptive Optics unit. Same question as to compatibility with the STX16803. Thanks.

The STT wheel and the AO-8 are too small for the large sensor in the STX - there would be significant vignetting. Also the wheel is not mechanically compatible.

So I'm looking to upgrade to a larger sensor from my STT 8300 and looking at the STX 16803, for example. I love my AO-8T and want to keep adaptive optics rather than an off-axis guide cam. From what I gather I would need the following (or equivalent) to accompany the STX 16803: the StarChaser SC-3 (or SC-2), the FW7-STX (or FW8S-STXL) filter wheel and the AO-X unit. Three items to replace two. Is this correct?

    Yes, you would need:

    FW7-STX
    StarChaser SC-3
    AO-X

If you are going to get an STX-16803, you should order immediately! The sensors are no longer manufactured, and we're running out - only one left.

Thanks. Can't jump into an $18,000 + purchase on that short notice. :-(
