    Hi,

My camera sits at "waiting for filter wheel" whenever I attempt to change the filter. The upper status window shows "Filter moving" and each of the camera information windows show "Waiting for filter wheel".

    Camera: AL3200
    FW : FW8G
    Driver : 1.9.4.0
    Firmware: 20

Attached are two log files showing the problem. One was just as a test using just MaximDL (20210107.log) and one was from last night during a longer session using ACP (20210105.log).

    Thanks,
    Tom

Please check that you have the threading options turned on:

    Colin,

Yes, both the threading boxes were checked.

Ok, so you are current MaxIm 6.26, current DL Imaging 1.9.4.0. The firmware is one step behind - version 21 is current.

    You could try updating.

I'm going to talk to our development people and see what they think.

Have you checked that the physical connection between the Filter Wheel and the camera is good and solid? Sometimes bad connections can look like a hung filter wheel.

I updated the firmware as suggested. Testing the next clear night had the same problem. The camera stopped with the "waiting for filter wheel" message visible on the #2 camera information window after successfully taking several different filtered images. The log file is attached.

The connection between the camera and filter wheel is snug and fully inserted. The cable is zip-tied to the power and control cables to minimize independent movement.

Could I log in and troubleshoot via TeamViewer?

To close the loop: it looks like the camera is reporting the filter wheel is in the FWBusy state, and MaxIm DL is dutifully waiting for it to finish moving. I'm interfacing with our hardware team to investigate the cause.

Has there been any progress on this? Got some expensive filters wanting to get in the game.

We're wrapping up a set of updates. This is going to take about 10 more days (my guestimate). We've done a bit of "alpha" testing with a couple of customers and some more work is needed before it's ready for prime time.

No response from the hardware team yet. I've pinged them for input again.
Can you confirm you're using all manufacturer-supplied cabling and power supplies? Also whether you're using any USB hubs/power bars?

Hang on... #2 camera? What do you have configured as Camera 2? What do you have configured as Filter Wheel 2? Are you using Dual Chip mode for Camera 1?

Can you ZIP and upload your Settings folder? That's Documents\MaxIm DL 6\Settings.
