Access is denied

    Hi All. I have an SBIG ST-10XME that has worked for ages. I recently suffered a power outage. My observatory computer (running Win-7), when restarted, will not connect with my camera. I tried to run the SBIG Driver Checker Utility but got the following message: Error: Opening Service Manager. Access is denied.

    Any help out there? Googling the above message turned up nothing.

    Wow, that is very strange. It sounds like some sort of strange Windows error.

    I've done some searching on that error message and the results were inconclusive. Recommended actions varied from rebooting and making sure your account has administrator access... to completely reinstalling Windows.
