My camera recently makes only blank images for dark or bias frames.
Light frames, and flats are fine.
What do you think is the problem/solution.
    Thanks

Forgot to mention that a FW8G-STT is attached to the Set-8300M

Do you mean the ADU count values are ZERO 0 for all pixels? Or do you mean something else?
Perhaps use [Upload a File] to attach a bias frame here - raw FITS image, binned 1x1, no processing.

If the former, give @Bill an email: Bill (at) sbig (dot) com

Sorry, I meant ADU = 65535, total black. Same for darks and bias. I have attached a dark, didn't save a bias

Dan, that's a 600 second dark frame, and is totally saturated (white) with ADU level 65535.
Any chance your shutter isn't working?
Have you had a look down the nose of the camera to see if the shutter is functional?

Any chance you recently updated the SBIG Driver Checker?
    You should have:
SBIG Driver Checker 4.05 with sbigudrv.dll version 4.99 build 7
IF you have sbigudrv.dll version 5.0.2.0, then see the bottom posting from me in this thread:

I assumed shutter is working as my 600 sec light frames are good. I will check shutter.
I will check the driver checker and follow your instructions.
    Thanks very much.

BTW it's easier to check the shutter if you select a Luminance (clear) filter in the filter wheel - they you can probably actually see the CCD chip when the shutter opens, and see it disappear when it closes.
Good luck, and let us know what you find.

the shutter is working. I see it open and close for light frames. I also did a dark frame, it did not open. the resulting image was the same as before. 65500. I am using SBIG Driver Checker 4.05 with sbigudrv.dll version 4.99 build 7. I don't see another copy of driver checker

Have same problem here. Light frames are normal. Dark frames keep shutter closed, but the ADU value for the whole frame is 65500. Bias also gives 65500. Is this a camera malfunction?

    Thanks,

Frank, I feel your pain. I sent my camera into Bill and after a thorough testing he reported it worked perfectly for him. Light, dark, bias, flat frames all as they should be. Turned out I needed a firmware update. The camera worked for him because his firmware was up to date. Check out your firmware version.
