Hi Doug/Colin I was reviewing the documentation for my STX16803 camera and STX-FW7, and I cant find reference to the light shield. My issue is that is I have had to remove it from beneath the 3" mounting plate because I cannot get the mounting plate/SC-3/FW to screw together with the light shield in place. Are you aware of this? Is it necessary to still use the light shield? regards Martin
Do you mean the flat plate with a square hole? That's a mask/baffle that is sometimes used for the filter wheel. It is not required. (FYI, what we call the "lightshield" is a component inside the CCD chamber, so the question was a little confusing!)
