I have tried to run my two CCD cameras (STXL16200 and ST2000-XM) at the same time, with the STXL 16200 running on MaxIm DL7, and the ST2000 on MaxIm DL6, but the only way I could get them both to run at the same time was by running the ST2000 using CCDOps. When I tried to connect the ST2000 to MaxIm DL6, it did not recognize that there was a camera available to connect to. Colin told me that this is related to the camera drivers. Will I have the same issue if one of the cameras is a CMOS camera? I have recently ordered an Aluma AC455 CMOS camera. What will my options be if I want to run one of the old CCD cameras while I am using the new CMOS camera? Specifically, can I use MaxIm DL7 to run the CMOS camera at the same time I am using MaxIm DL6 to run the CCD camera? Mike
No there will be no interaction between the two whatsoever. The SBIG Universal drivers share absolutely nothing in common with the DL Imaging drivers. They don't interact in any way, and basically don't know about each other.
Thanks Doug. So, I can assume that there will be no problem running the CCD and CMOS cameras simultaneously? Mike
Absolutely. I've run many different combinations and permutations of cameras in my observatory without issue. For a long time I was running an STX-16803 and STC-7 together. The STC-7 was on my piggybacked FSQ-106 so it got use as both an imager and as a guider for the STX.
