Hi, I'm Michele from Italy. I have an old AO8 purchased used. It needs restoration because 2 wires of one motor are disconnected from the board (orange and black wire) and I have to reorient the motors because probably someone have turn on the Ao8 with motors disconnected from the mirror and the bracket . the flat part of the motor shaft does not match the set screw. Is there a procedure for aligning the motors to the brackets?
    Thank you

This is not a simple process and requires special hardware to calibrate the motors. It is best to send it in and we can rebuild it.

If you wish to send it, please submit the following RMA contact form to begin the return process. Once I receive the submission, I can provide you with return instructions and an RMA number:

Hi, thanks for the reply. I soldered the wires, but I think one of the two stepper motors is broken because it trips when you move it from the software. In your opinion, is it worth sending it to you (from Italy) given that used items can be found for 300/400 euros?

It is your choice. You could try buying another used AO-8, but apparently you run the risk of it not working. You could buy a new one - they are currently on sale. Or you could send it in for repairs.

Yes , I have seen the offer in your site at 599$. I have to understand the shipping cost for the reparation and for the new buy, tax.. ecc. how you think can cost the reparation if you need to change the motors ?

From your description of the problem, most likely the charge would be $175 for labor. If a replacement motor is needed, that would be an extra $60. Plus shipping.
