I'm trying to clean up all the cables on my imaging setup. Since I use a mini PC on top of my scope the supplied cable that came with my STT-8300 is way longer than I need. Cables quality seems to vary wildly, is there a particular brand or specific model you recommend? A 3ft. cable will be plenty long. Thanks.
We've had good success with https://www.l-com.com/ The main thing you want to watch for is the shielding and wire gauge of the cable, and quality connectors on the end. Wire gauge - lower number = thicker wire = better. Sometimes there will be thicker 2 power wires, slightly thinner 2 data wires. It is often worth sacrificing a cable to wire cutters/knife to examine how it is made. Look for a USB 2.0 certification tag or labelling on the wire itself.
