Are desiccant plugs good to go from purchase?

    I bought a spare desiccant plug, and I'm wondering if I can put it right in the camera, or if I should bake it out first.

    As long as it is still sealed in the plastic pouch, you should be able to plug it right into the camera.

    Also, can these be recharged indefinitely, or is there a lifetime to them?

    Should be able to recharge indefinitely.
