I was following the instructions in the AC455 manual on the computer ethernet interface setup, and ran into an issue when trying to set up the firewall rule in my Windows settings. The advanced settings button is greyed out, and I can't access the settings.
I managed to get access to the Inbound rules using a different path, but I don't see the AC455 connection in the list of inbound rules. Is there a step in the AC455 manual that I missed?
OK I finally got this figured out. I had to create the new rule for the AC455 Camera before it showed up on the list. I would like to say however that the illustration in the AC455 manual for step 19 is very confusing because the list of inbound rules already has the AC455 Camera on the list before the steps to add it have been executed. The instructions would be less confusing if the illustration for step 19 did not include the AC455 Camera in the list of inbound rules. It would also help to give some alternate instructions on how to get to this set of rules in the first place. I had to follow the instructions below to get to the advanced firewall settings. Mike
Windows automatically prompts when MaxIm or DL Config x64 tries to find the camera on the network; There is a dialog that comes up, and it has a little blue message allowing you to get more information to Allow both public and private networks. Each version of windows and recent updates by Microsoft seems to change this a bit, so its hard to document it universally. If you are still running into a problem, let us know, and we'll lend a hand.
Thanks Colin. I think I have gotten all of the network configuration done according to the manual. I won't get a chance to go further with the setup until this weekend. Mike
