    Hello experts,

I own two filter wheels of type FW8G-STT. The spring arm mechanism is different and it seems the newer version has an improved mechanism for the spring arm with a screw. With this newer version the spring does not move and reliably keeps position. The older one is fixed with a very small e-clip and the spring arm moves "up and down" which could lead to jamming of the filter wheel. I have attached both versions. Now my question: Does anybody know what screw is used in the improved version, I want to improve the e-clip version with such a screw. Thanks!

    Best regards, Juergen

The work instructions for that vintage of filter wheel calls out Shoulder Screw (dia. 0.125 x 0.375 x 4-40”). An example would be McMaster 94035A521.

Please bear in mind that the length specification for some of the shoulder screws used in the filter wheels varied over time, I suspect due to some machining variability.
