Boltwood Cloud Sensor III Firmware 17

After extensive development and testing, we're making a major leap with the Boltwood Cloud Sensor II firmware.

The official release is version 17.15. Changes include:

• Improved wind algorithms.
  • Higher accuracy and stability
• Improved rain sensor algorithms.
  • Improved measurement methodology to prevent false detections while allowing for more sensitive threshold settings.
  • Now uses a combination of "drops" and "wet" conditions, to ensure we detect both light and heavy rain.
  • Four user adjustment parameters:
    • Drop Sensitivity (recommended default is now 0.5)
    • DPM Threshold (recommended default 2 drops per minute)
    • Wetness Threshold % (usually set in the 6% to 30% range)
    • Wetness Scale (default 2.5; lower the value to increase sensitivity)
• More accurate input voltage display.
  
• Pressure sensor display now takes account of elevation (see below).
• User Sensor Calibration available:
  • We recommend running the calibrations if upgrading an older sensor.
  • Rain Sensor - click Calibrate button when sensor is dry
  • Wind Sensor - we recommend you calibrate in still air (enter 0 km/h and click Calibrate) but you can also calibrate in steady wind conditions (enter value and click Calibrate).
  • Humidity and Temperature Calibration - adjust to match another instrument. Enter the known humidity, external temperature, and internal temperature and click Apply. If a value is not known, then enter the current raw value shown below the field.
  • Daylight Sensor - click Calibrate Dark under fully dark conditions.
• Improved WiFi reliability
• Can now enter site Latitude / Longitude / Elevation and add a Description
• Can turn off under-unit LED indicators if desired
• Added "badges" to main status display
• Lots more under-the-hood improvements
