The Kodak KAI-11002M chip has been out quite a while. Is there anything new on the horizon? Better QE, lower noise, faster downloads, etc.?

Yes. We've already added the KAI-08050 and KAI-04070. Several other new sensors are in the works. Stay tuned...

I'll stay tuned. I'm looking for the "next generation" of 11002 chip and camera. Don't want to spend $10K on a camera/filter wheel only to have a newer one come out a couple months later.

Evolution of the 11000 ccd is more up to the manufacturer, no?

Definitely up to the manufacturer for the chip, and the camera manufacturer for the camera.
I have no idea if Kodak is even designing new chips or where the technology is going, but thought someone on this forum might. I don't expect SBIG to discuss their upcoming products in a forum like this, but they might be able to discuss newer chips and where the technology is going. For example, more mega pixels, faster download speeds, higher QE, lower noise, etc.

There are some new chips being launched by On Semi (formerly Truesense formerly Kodak). I don't think they're out of NDA yet.

It won't be a new 11002. It'll be something different, but better. But we're talking next year.
