    Hello all,
Getting prepped for getting the STX-16803 camera/FW7-STX/STX-Guider working in a remote observatory. Clearly, I don't want to be using the power brick that came with the camera and I haven't found a 12v DC power cable for the camera. Is there something that's out there that I can use? If I have to make one, I will need some help - I am not very handy with electrical things.

Also wondering if there are ASCOM drivers for the camera?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Dhaval

If you don't want to use the AC power supply for some reason, you will need to have someone make a cable for you.
We no longer stock a 12V DC cable for that camera.
You will need a 6-pin DIN plug, and it will have to be wired the same way as the connector from the power supply.
Note that there may be errors in the labelling of the power supply or in the manual. The correct thing to do is to check the actual output at the connector with a voltmeter, ensuring you have the polarity correct.
You will also want to have a 10Amp DC fuse in the circuit.
Perhaps you know someone good with a soldering iron / a ham radio person.

Most applications support the SBIG Universal Driver natively. The camera did not have an ASCOM driver. What software are you intending to use?

    Hello Colin,
Thanks for the suggestion on power cable. With regards to software, I will be using NINA in a remote setting.

N.I.N.A. supports the SBIG Universal Driver natively. No need for ASCOM. We did a 64-bit version of the driver for them and other vendors.

When the camera is connected and powered on, it will show up as an SBIG Legacy camera in the list in N.I.N.A.
Similar to this (showing an STL camera):
