This is Dave Miller from Observatory Solutions on Russell's account... Just setup a new AC4040 BSI-NIR Ultimate. I've went through all Colin's AC4040 steps on the forum, but DL Config will not find the AC4040 camera. I see "SBIG Camera" in Windows USB devices. All info looks correct per Colin's instructions. I see the SC-3 camera in DL Config. But in the Camera pane on the left, I do not see the AC4040. If I go into MaxIm DL > Camera Setup > Advanced; it will find the camera but the serial number has "???" where "4040" should be and eGain says "Camera eGain is corrupted / unusable". See attached image. I have tried different USB3 cables, but get the same results.
Hi Dave, I can help you with that. Would it be possible for me to log in remotely and do some troubleshooting? Cheers, -Adam
Just to recap: I installed MaxIm DL 6.30 beta + DLAPI 2.3.0.0 on Russell's machine, and saw some odd behavior where the AC4040BSI was not being recognized despite being in the device manager. After a power cycle to the camera, and some refresh button clicks in DL Config, the camera appeared and started taking pictures. I verified the eGain entries matched the ones on file for the camera for both High & Low Gain readout modes.
Note for anyone listening in on this thread: there's a bug in the AC4040 firmware rev 10 responsible for spotty camera discovery that's been corrected by rev 11. We advise all BSI customers to update ASAP. You can get it here: https://diffractionlimited.com/aluma-fpga-firmware
Note: This update only impacts the BSI version. AC4040 FSI models are not impacted and do not require a firmware update.
Hi @Russell Sandlin We released an update on Friday May 19 to the DL API Drivers. This is recommended for all Aluma and STC cameras. You can read about it and download here: https://forum.diffractionlimited.com/threads/dlapi-2-7-1-0-released.9722/ This addresses a number of issues. Please install it and test it out. Let us know if you need any assistance.
