I'll post this as a reply since my symptoms are similar but on a CCD694. In my case the usb cable fallout of the socket, and I can see either no socket or a severely damaged socket if I look into the hole in the case. In the prior session/night, all was well. As standard operating procedure, I disconnect/reconnect all cables between sessions if they are overnight or longer. Do you think I should pursue a repair at the factory, or is there further testing necessary first? (or initiate a new thread for separate tracking?) - bob
If I understand correctly, the USB socket on your camera is damaged/broken? If that's the case, its best to just send it in and we can repair it for you. If you would like to send it in, please submit the following RMA contact form. Once I receive the submission, I can provide you with an RMA number and return instructions. http://diffractionlimited.com/request-rma
That was certainly a very quick response, Tim, despite my not very intelligible initial report. In my 12 years using SBIG/DL/Cyanogen products, I have only twice needed to report problems, and both issues were answered very quickly. Thanks! I'll follow up on your recommendation to fill out an RMA request. - bob
