Hello, I'm having problems with this camera. It's working at -35 degress and I have vertical banding in all the images. No banding in Darks, Bias and Flats. Any idea ?
KAI-11002 sensors tend to exhibit a small amount of faint vertical banding, but appropriate calibration should correct it. Did you intens to imply this only happens at -35 and light frames, or could you please clarify your original message. Thanks
It happens at -35, -20. -10 but only in the light frames. Do you mean that a camera € 15,000 have this problem?
Hi Doug, i have the same vertical bar with my stlx11002 but at bin 2,3,4 only, all sound good at bin 1. it is related to the power supply ?
I try to post you a fit but your blog can't accept a fit file from my stxl11002 because it is too big ...
Okay I found your file. Are you referring to a very faint vertical banding pattern in the background? According to Alan Holmes, this is something that all KAI-11002 sensors do to some degree. It's simply characteristic of the sensor design. There is a command in CCDOPS, under Utility \ Filter Utilities \ Fix Vertical Bars, which can be used to remove the effect. Alan also says that it can sometimes be minimized by tinkering slightly with the vertical clock voltages, though it's a trial-and-error thing. If you want to send it over, we can try to optimize it.
Thanks, I use maxim DL and l alway capture objects over multiple night, so when we register all images, the pattern is not always at the same place ... Can you add as an optional parameter in maxim DL a function to remove it right after the capture. So when l will integrate all images, the pattern will already removed. I think this will be usefull for all customers ...
Did you add the parameter for removing the banding in Maxim DL 6 ?? We are about adquiring it and it could be a good characgeristic for us. Thanks
