    Hello,
The fan in my newly bought SBIG STXL-11002 causes vibrations which spoil my images, see attached photo. As far as I know only CCDOPS allows to control the fan speed gradually. But CCDOPS is not suitable to take series of images. I try to use water cooling, but even then a moderately turning fan is needed to prevent dew. Is there a possibility to adjust the fan speed by hardware (resistor)?

    Best regards

The current release of MaxIm DL V6 has adjustable fan speed control. Connect to the camera, then go to Expose tab, Options, and select Camera Settings. When running SBIG w/AO driver fan control is in the Setup tab of the AO control panel.

One trick people have used with older versions of MaxIm DL is to adjust the fan speed in CCDOPS, then quit CCDOPS and run MaxIm DL.
