I have a question about buying Maxim DL. First off, I only want the download version I've got no need for a box Anyway, I head over to http://www.cyanogen.com/maximdl_buy.php and add my version to the cart, and click checkout. Boom, now I'm on a new domain (http://ww7.aitsafe.com), I thought 'fair enough, they have outsourced their webstore'. So I fill in the details, I do note it is not an encrypted connection though. I continue on, and on the page where I have to enter my creditcard I'm on a third domain. Now far too many alarm bells are ringing for me, so I never completed the purchase. Is this legit? What is up with using so many domains and not using encryption for the whole process?
We use a shopping cart provider, that's aitsafe.com. The credit card goes directly into our merchant credit processor's web site, beanstream.com. That way your credit card goes directly to beanstream and we never even see it ourselves. This provides the best possible security for your credit card.
Thank you, I have placed the order now. I do think you may want to consider styling the shopping cart and credit card processing pages similar to your own pages, and also serve up the entire shopping flow over https.
We are planning a complete revamp of our web sites (Cyanogen and SBIG). So of course we will be reviewing that.
