My filter wheel is not working - it looks like a rat nibbled on the cable between the CFW-10 and my ST10XME. Repairing the cable looks difficult. Is it possible to control the filter wheel through the "RS-232" connection via a spare RS-232 outlet or (unlikely) "I2C AUX OUT"?
Yes, it can be controlled via RS232 serial port (with either a real COM port in your computer or quality USB-to-RS232 adapter), and external power is needed. Details in the manual: https://diffractionlimited.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/cfw-10_operating_manual.pdf I would be concerned about potential short circuits in the nibbled cable though. Inspect it carefully. You can contact @Bill for repair via bill (at) sbig (dot) com
