I have a SBIG 8300M USB Camera. It has been working very well until today. When focusing or grabing images, it always gave a dark image. There is no problem of computer link or power supply, and the temperature control also works. Not sure what is the problem...

Can you attach a bias, dark, and light FITS image ? Use the Upload a File button.
We can't tell anything from the JPG.
Can you let us know the STF-8300M serial number and when you purchased it?

It looks like a hardware failure of some kind, and likely will have to go in to @Bill for service.

When we take images, the software of "CCDOps" works just fine, but we don't hear the sound of shutter opening. If the problem is due to the shutter, is it hard or simple to fix?

I suspect it will have to be sent to @Bill at SBIG Service & Repair. Perhaps he can chime in...

I'm a bit confused. It works fine in CCDOps but not other software? Or do you mean the camera works fine in CCDOps except that no image is produced?

Bill, I think he means that everything BUT the shutter works in CCDOPs.
