Cosmic Ray Damage?

    This is .fit (and jpg) file is from a ST-10XME, at least 11 years old. Cooled to ~ 4C
    It's a one second dark. Another 9 were identical.
    Is this cosmic ray damage?
    Can I do anything about this in image processing, or is this camera now past its prime?

    Yes, that's accumulated radiation damage.

    Try subtracting darks - you will be surprised at how effective it is at removing hot columns. The sensor might be totally usable.

    I have a 17 year old 6303 that looks absolutely horrible, but it still completely calibrates out.
