I am having a problem with the fan shutting off on my SBIG STL 11000 M camera. I can either run the cooling fan or take images, but not both at the same time. Below I have described two operating scenerios. I have run the Driver checker and believe the Drivers are current.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

    Camera SBIG STL 11000M
Camera control software Sky X Professional
    PC operating system Windows 8.1

    Scenario 1
    1. Plug in AC power - No fan
    2. Plug in UBS Cable between PC & Camera – Fan comes on
    3. “Connect” camera in The SkyX – Fan goes off
    4. I can take photos

    Scenario 2
    1. AC on & USB cable connected, “Camera Ready”
    2. Un-plug AC & re plug it in
    3. Camera still says “Ready”
    4. Fan stays on.
    5. Try to take photo – Fan stays on, but can’t take photo. Get message:

SBIG Driver: Transmission timeout Error = 30007

    6. If I then “Disconnect” and “Connect” camera, fan shuts off, but I can take photo.
    7. I also get the 30007 error message when I try to:
    a. Use Focus tools in Sky X
    b. Set temperature in Sky X

I have confirmed this behavior with 2 different USB cables (3” & 10”) and two USB ports on the PC.

I have run the SBIG Driver Checker and believe I have the latest drivers installed

    Try testing with CCDOps.

The STL gets it's firmware from the computer. When it first powers on, it has no firmware, the fan will be off. The computer connection is established, the firmware is downloaded and runs, and then the USB bus interface is re-enumerated.
The fan will come on and work at that point.
